This California couple brought the spirit of New Orleans to an intimate spring wedding at the groom’s family home in Northwest Washington, D.C. Inspired by their family’s love of Mardi Gras, the celebration featured brightly saturated wedding flowers in joyful shades of yellow, pink, purple, and orange, creating a colorful garden setting for the ceremony.
The floral theme continued throughout the celebration, from custom floral china selected for the guest tables to floral details carried into the interior of the home. Together, the flowers, tabletop elements and décor created a cohesive garden-inspired setting that felt festive, personal and full of color.
For the ceremony, the couple stood beneath a chuppah adorned with asymmetrical floral installations in the vibrant wedding palette. A tallit was pinned to the underside of the canopy, adding a meaningful and personal element to the ceremony design.
Following the ceremony, the couple and their guests took to the neighborhood for a traditional New Orleans-style second line procession. With music, dancing and neighbors joining the festivities along the way, it became a wonderfully personal celebration filled with color, energy and Mardi Gras spirit.
