Wedding Photography has evolved over the years. From the stiff formal poses of brides and grooms of yesteryear to the photojournalistic style that depicted a much more natural look that included unscripted moments. Recently, a style of photography known as “fine art” has become popular for the beautiful light, ethereal style, and frequent film medium.
Fine art style typically incorporates many of the thoughtful details that the bride has incorporated into her day. Some are symbolic of shared interests between the bride and groom and some are more specific to the bride. These details might include her jewelry, perfume, and ring box. Flat lay subjects can also include the wedding invitation and blooms from the bridal bouquet as well. Many times your florist will bring special blooms from the day to incorporate into these treasured memories. The composition of the flat lay can be arranged by your photographer or your wedding planner/stylist.
Here is a compilation of flat lays from the past couple wedding seasons.
